Activating a Client and the Project Brief
Activating from the Marketplace
- Action: Go to Marketplace, pick the client (or create a new one), and switch on Business Website.
- Action: Choose the billing cycle (monthly, quarterly, bi-annual or annual). There are no other options to fill in.
- Action: Click Add Services. The wholesale amount is charged to your wallet and the service appears under Active Services in the Brief needed stage.
When a client buys from your storefront the result is the same: the service is created, your wallet is charged wholesale at the moment of sale, and the client's retail payment goes to your connected Stripe or PayPal.
What the client receives
A branded email from your portal, "Your Business Website: next step", explaining the three steps (brief → preview → live) with an Open Website Manager button. New storefront accounts also receive the usual portal login email.
The project brief
Design does not start until the brief is in. It takes about five minutes and asks for:
- Business name, what the business does, phone, address or service area
- Current website and the domain they want to use (blank if they need one)
- Main services or products — the 3–6 things they want customers to call about
- Competitors or sites they like, logo link, brand colors
- Monthly ad budget for Google / Facebook
Who fills it in
The client, from their Website Manager at your-storefront.com/website-manager (linked from the welcome email and from My Account → Manage). Once it is in, you can read it under View Details on the service card in Active Services.
Submitting the brief moves the site to Being designed automatically, emails the client a confirmation, and notifies our design team. The client can edit the brief later; changes are sent to the team.
