Onboarding and Phase 1
Phase 1 happens once, in the first 1–2 weeks after activation. It's the foundation everything else builds on. Get this wrong and the next 12 months of monthly work has no leverage.
Activation
- Open the SEO marketplace section in the panel
- Enter the client's email address — they'll receive a welcome email and a link to share access
- Submit website details:
- Website URL
- cPanel or hosting login (read-only access works for monitoring; full access required for technical fixes)
- WordPress admin login if applicable
- Google account access (for Analytics and Search Console — request via the welcome email)
- Choose package — Local SEO ($200/mo) or National SEO ($700/mo)
- Confirm — first month's wholesale is deducted from your wallet, the team is notified, and onboarding begins
What Phase 1 includes
Keyword research
- Identify 5, 7, or 10 targeted keywords (depending on tier)
- Each keyword is selected based on search volume, competition, and intent for the client's business
- You receive the keyword list for review — flag any you think are wrong before content work starts
Industry & competitor research
- Top 5–10 competitors are analyzed
- Their backlink profile, content gaps, and on-page strategy are documented
- Used to inform what your client's site needs to compete
Sitemap (main nav) review
The team reviews the existing site navigation — fixing dead links, suggesting structural changes, and ensuring every important page is reachable from the homepage in 1–2 clicks.
Content analysis & planning
Existing pages are audited for SEO weaknesses — thin content, missing keywords, duplicate titles. A content calendar is built for Phase 2's monthly deliverables.
Onsite optimization
- Yoast SEO plugin installed and configured
- Title tags, meta descriptions, and H1 tags optimized — 10 topics for 5-keyword tier, 16 topics for 7-keyword tier, 20 topics for 10-keyword tier
Basic technical optimization
- XML sitemap generated and submitted
- Robots.txt created or updated
- Google Analytics installed
- Google Search Console verified and connected
- Tag Manager installed if useful
- Goal tracking configured
Advanced technical optimization
- Schema markup (Local Business, Organization, FAQ, Review)
- Data Highlighter setup in Search Console
- 404 errors identified and fixed (or 301-redirected to the correct page)
- Sitemap submission to Google Search Console verified
- Site speed improvements (image compression, caching plugin, CDN if not already in place)
- Internal linking — strategic cross-linking between optimized pages
- Image alt text — every image gets a keyword-relevant alt attribute
Timing
- Onboarding starts within 24–48 hours of activation
- Keyword research and audit complete in the first 5 business days
- Onsite + technical optimization complete by the end of week 2
- You receive the Phase 1 completion report at the end of week 2
- Phase 2 (monthly deliverables) begins immediately after
What you (the reseller) need to do
- Make sure the client provides Google account access promptly — without it, Analytics/Search Console can't be connected
- Review the keyword list when it arrives and approve or request changes within 48 hours — silence is taken as approval
- Forward the Phase 1 report to your client (rebrand if you want — it doesn't mention ResellPortal)
